Thermoelectric coolers (TEC or Peltier) create a temperature differential on each side. One side gets hot and the other side gets cool, which makes it can used to either warm something up or cool something down, depending on which side you use.
This TEC works very well as long as you remove the heat from the hot side. After power on the device, the hot side will heat quickly and the cold side will cool quickly. If you don’t use a heat sink to remove the heat from the hot side, the TEC will quickly reach stasis and do nothing. We recommend using a CPU heat sink or other block of metal to pull heat from the hot side.
Note: Running the TEC without a heat sink can cause damage to this part, please add a heat sink to the hot side of TEC.
