This panel mount cable is great for making USB Type C connections with a panel-mount setup. On the small panel-mount side you get a USB C connector, the other end has power, ground, D+ / D-, and CC1/CC2 lines. The panel mount part is very small, only about half an inch in diameter, and you get a JST PH cable on the other end for quick integration.
Note: this cable has the CC pins exposed but not connected to anything. You can either add 5.1K pull downs for each pin to select standard 5V 2A, or connect up a USB PD-capable device if you want to negotiate higher voltages/currents. Don't leave the CC pins floating!
The adapter can fit holes 11mm~13.5mm, so you can drill in your wood, plastic, or metal with a common hole-saw or bit, no special shapes or filing required. Un-screw the plastic nut, insert the plug, and re-attach. Now you have a USB C jack and USB C plug to connect any cable.
It's designed to easily attach to a panel up to 7mm thick, or as thin as a few mm. Perfect for adding a USB C port to your project enclosure! It also has a removable cap to help protect the USB-C port from dirt or grime.
