QCC300x series Bluetooth chip configuration tutorial


The old bluetooth chip CSR64215 are discontinued. Now, we have upgraded our APTX series amplifier to the newest Bluetooth 5.0 chip QCC3008. The chip configuration procedure have some difference compare to the CSR64215. This is a tutorial of how to configure the QCC300x(QCC3005,QCC3007,QCC3008) series Bluetooth.

 

 

Hardware and Software required:

 

Hardware connection:

Step1:

Connect the CSR USB-SPI programmer and Tag-Connect line with a AudioB Plus convert board, then connect CSR USB-SPI to your computer by a mini USB cable and windows will auto detect it and install the drivers.

Step2:

Connect TC2050-IDC-NL’s connector to AudioB plus programming port. You need to locate the single steel alignment pin of the connector into the single hole of the PCB footprint, then press down softly to engage the spring-pin contacts. Make sure the first 6 pins have a good contact with the corresponding pads. Then the blue led and red led will flashe alternately.

 


 

Change the Bluetooth name

Use PSTOOL can change the Bluetooth name. Same operation procedure as the old module.

Change the BT name

 

Lower the volume of the tone

Step1:

Make sure the hardware connection is good, then open ADK Configuration Tool in ADK_QCC300x.WIN.1.0.167. Select USB SPI in the drop-down menu, and then click "Go Configurable" to enter the configuration mode.

 

Step2:

The "Read Device" button will becomes clickable In configuration mode, and then click it. After reading is completed, "Write Device" will become clickable, and the parameter options on the left will also become editable.

 

Step3:

User Interface → Tones→ Event Tones. Change the FixedToneVolumeLevel value to smaller value.

 

Step4:

After all the parameters are modified, click "Write Device" to write the configuration parameters to the bluetooth chip. Then click "Go Normal"and remove the CSR USB-SPI programmer.

 

 

Restore AudioB Plus Module(QCC300x) Default Settings

Step1:

Make sure the hardware connection is good, then open ADK Configuration Tool in ADK_QCC300x.WIN.1.0.167. Select USB SPI in the drop-down menu, and then click "Go Configurable" to enter the configuration mode.

 

Step2:

The "Read Device" button will becomes clickable In configuration mode, and then click it. After reading is completed, "Write Device" will become clickable, and the parameter options on the left will also become editable.

 

Step3:

File → Open Config Set Dump File , Then open the .xml.

 

Step4:
Click "Write Device" to write the configuration parameters to the bluetooth chip. Then click "Go Normal"and remove the CSR USB-SPI programmer.

 

How to set the Audio Tones

Step1:

Make sure the hardware connection is good, then open ADK Configuration Tool in ADK_QCC300x.WIN.1.0.167. Select USB SPI in the drop-down menu, and then click "Go Configurable" to enter the configuration mode.

 

Step2:

The "Read Device" button will becomes clickable In configuration mode, and then click it. After reading is completed, "Write Device" will become clickable, and the parameter options on the left will also become editable.

 

Step3:

User Interface → Audio Prompts→ Generate page. Click all "Delete" in the red box to delete all events (QCC3007 and QCC3008 can skip this step).

 

Step4:

User Interface → Tones→ Event Tones page, you will see two configuration options: "Event" and "Tones". Select the tone event you want in the drop-down options of "Event", and then select the tone you like from the drop-down options of "Tones" . Here we select "Power On" in "Event" and "4 Low to High Long at Top" in "Tones".

If you don’t need a event tone, you can click “Delete” to delete it, or select “No Tone” in “Tones”.

 

Step5:

After all the parameters are modified, click "Write Device" to write the configuration parameters to the bluetooth chip. Then click "Go Normal"and remove the CSR USB-SPI programmer.

 

Set up mono output

Step1:

Make sure the hardware connection is good, Bluetooth module get powered from the programmer. Let your smartphone paired and connected with the Bluetooth. Playing music.

 

Step2:

Find the UniversalFrontEnd software in C:\ADK_QCC300x.WIN.1.0.167\tools\bin. Open it. Click Music Manager.



Step3:

Connect programmer.

 

Step4:

Click Monitor button in the Music Manager page.

 

Step5:

Click Cross over module in the Monitor state.

Step6:

Change the Primary left, right channel from Left: 0,-INF,INF to -6,-6,-INF. Right: INF,0,INF to -INF,-INF,-INF.

 

Step7:

Download Params. Left and Right channel audio will mixed and output from left channel. Right channel without audio out.

 

How to stop it auto reconnecting the smartphone after power on

User Interface → User Events page, Delete that 2 Establish SLC events. and click write device to save the settings. The Bluetooth audio amplifier will not reconnect samrtphone automatically after power on.
